Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
If you are paying fully out of pocket, the initial session fee is $100. Subsequent sessions are $85. I can accept cash, check,Visa and Mastercard. You will not be billed. Payment is required at each session.
A financial hardship adjustment may be possible. Call to discuss your situation.
In many cases these costs are covered by your insurance after your deductible has been met. If you are paying with insurance or EAP, you may be responsible for a co-pay.
Co-pays will be required at each session. The amount will depend on what your insurance covers. See below for how to ask your insurance company or EAP administrator about your co-pay obligation.

How do I find out about my deductible?
Some mental health services include a deductible, payable to me at each session.
To find out if your insurance covers Abbee Smith, LCSW, and/or Intrigue Counseling, please look on your insurance card for a BENEFIT phone number or a mental health phone number, call, and ask these questions:
-
Do I have a deductible?
-
How much is my deductible?
-
Has my deductible been met?
-
If not met, how much more of the deductible remains?
-
Does my insurance cover mental health services?
-
Is there a co-pay?
-
Do the sessions need to be authorized?
Can I use my EAP benefits?
Possibly, yes. Many employers offer employees free outpatient mental health sessions. Ask your human resources if this benefit is available to you. Intrigue Counseling is a provider for most EAPs.
